Rewards and behaviour

At Mountnessing C of E Primary School we firmly believe that children should behave in a manner that is respectful, caring, kind, polite and thoughtful. Our children do this in school by behaving in a way that is modelled to them by staff and their class mates.

Praise plays a bit part in encouraging children to work hard.We praise children verbally all the time, but also offer rewards for brilliant work and attitude. For our reception class, they can earn stickers to fill up their sticker charts. In KS1 and KS2 the children earn house points for their team. In KS2 we also offer 'Golden Tickets' to those children who do something exceptional. Golden Tickets give the children a pass to be included in a golden time treat with the head teacher. Each week the treat is a suprise, and the children who have been given golden tickets are picked out of a hat to take part. They need to be 'in it to win it'!

We also celebrate children's achievements weekly in our celebration assembly. A child from each class is picked as 'Star of the Week'.
