Key Information

I firmly believe that you, as parents, are the first and most important educators of your children and feel that it is important that support in learning is provided at home as well as at school. This may include: listening to your child read each night, learning numbers to 20, practising letter formation, singing the alphabet song or saying sounds and tricky words just before bed.
To ensure that the children become the best that they can be, it is important that we work in partnership. Please do not hesitate to contact us at school or by email if you have any queries or concerns regarding your child.

In Chestnut Class we have fun, work hard and enjoy our learning! We work together to make sure that the children are happy, have a stimulating environment in which to work and make the best possible progress. We have a thematic approach to the curriculum with termly/half termly topics on a two year rolling programme to ensure that the children are interested and inspired to learn. We encourage them to be inquisitive, independent learners and to challenge themselves.

Our Chestnut Class Charter states that we all agree that we will…

• Be kind
• Listen carefully
• Try our best
• Be safe
• Share
• Not give up
• Cooperate
• Ask questions
